"Rescue Data Services has been absolutely wonderful and EASY to deal with. I am a tech myself, and was extremely satisfied and impressed with the knowledge that Boris and the other tech (I'm sorry, I forget his name at the moment) had. I asked a million questions, some specific and some vague, as I was very worried about the integrity of the data on a failed hard drive that belongs to my mother for both personal data AND business data. We had sent the hard drive to another company, 1st Data Recovery, who when I called them said they were based in Edmonton, but in reality were not and they MAILED the hard drive to Vancouver and worked on it there, and took several weeks to get back to us, and only responded after I emailed to get the status on it - and NONE of the agents at that company spoke English well, and the actual techs working on it spoke ZERO english - and I am very adept at understanding accents/broken english. We were told that there was a severe scratch on the platter and that there was absolutely zero possibility of recovery - in essence we were "SOL" and had lost the data - years (since the early 90's) of documents, pictures, tax information, resumes, music, videos, as well as an entire multi-million dollar company's business, and a personal business on it. Thankfully some stuff had been backed up, but it had been awhile (close to a year) since it had been, and even then it wasn't all of what we needed, just certain things.

So, I asked for my drive back from that other company and even had to pay shipping. When I received it, at this point it was 1.5 months after I had originally taken it into the office in downtown Edmonton. I had been in contract with Rescue Data and had asked many questions as I was worried (as I know that repeated attempts to access/recovery to a drive can further damage it, and if a drive is opened in a non-closed environment, one speck of dust can completely destroy a drive), and got a quote - I took it in, and the NEXT DAY I got a call from Boris saying that it should all be recoverable, but of course no promises. We agreed upon the price (which, while it's still a bunch of money, it is cheaper than many other companies - and was worth it to get our data back), and I had the FULLY recovered data within 3 business days.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rescue Data Services and all of the techs that work there. Losing data, especially data that is important to someone very personally, or to a business, can be extremely stressful. They were VERY easy and awesome to deal with, very professional but yet can connect with you on a personal level. My faith in humanity and wonderful customer service has been restored, along with every single file we were told we wouldn't see again.

"Our experience with Rescue Data was wonderful. I mentioned needing a miracle when I dropped off my computer and the receptionist said that they had made miracles happen in the past and I can definitely say they were able to work one for me.

After taking our computer to Best Buy for a backup they called the next day to say that they were only able to back up approximately 15% of the pictures before the system crashed, they sent it to a data recovery company in Ontario who retrieved very little additional pictures I had to pay $1800.00 upfront as they charge the full price and then you can get a refund if they fail as well as supply an external hard drive, during the 19 days I was dealing with Best Buy/Ontrack I was given multiple different "updates" with a lot of misinformation from Best Buy but Ontrack couldn't deal with me directly as Best Buy had sent it in.

After finally getting my system back from Ontrack I contacted Rescue Data who were able to retrieve almost all of our pictures for us, they charged a fraction of the cost initially and the final cost was much lower then it would have been from Ontrack. They had the backup ready for pickup within 7 business days.

I would highly recommend Rescue Data to anyone.
